Strength is a strength-training class where you work with a barbell, dumbbells or your own bodyweight to make your body stronger and more resilient, both in sport and in everyday life. The class focuses on big movements such as the squat, lunge, press and row, and the instructor makes sure technique stays correct even as fatigue builds.
Everyone picks their own weight, so beginners and experienced gym-goers can take the same class. Exercises are often repeated for a set time or number of reps, which makes it easy to see how your weights grow from week to week. A personal trainer can adapt the same content to your own goal if needed.
Since Strength has different content in different clubs, ask how the class is built, which equipment is used and whether beginners get a separate introduction to technique. Also find out the class length, group size and whether the instructor has time to correct each participant's form during the class.
