Disc golf is a game in which you throw a disc at a basket, aiming to complete a course with as few throws as possible. The game resembles golf: each hole has a tee at the start, a basket at the end and obstacles in between, such as trees and slopes. The game can be played alone or in company.
A disc golf coach teaches throwing stance, grip, disc selection and throwing technique. Three types of discs are usually used: distance discs or drivers, mid-range discs and putters, and each has its own task.
For a beginner, a few discs and comfortable shoes are enough at first. A disc golf coach helps choose a disc that fits the strength of your throw and shows how to read a course. Ask whether they train on a course or in an open field and whether they also offer group training.
