A volleyball coach teaches the basic skills: the overhead pass and the forearm pass, the serve, the spike, defence and the block. A beginner starts with handling the ball and moving on the court, before jumping and attacking are added. The coach also shows how to read the opponent's play and position yourself on the court.
A volleyball coach works with different forms: in indoor volleyball each team has six players on the court and in beach volleyball two. They demand different skills, because sand slows movement and puts more responsibility on each player's shoulders. Ask the coach which form they teach.
Volleyball coaches offer individual sessions, small groups and club groups. Ask whether the coach works with young people or adults, which position, for example setter or libero, they focus on and whether the sessions include a chance to play and how long one session is.
