Padel (1)

Padel is a doubles game that resembles tennis, but the court is smaller and enclosed by glass walls that the ball can bounce off. A padel coach teaches stroke technique, playing off the walls and positioning together with your partner. Getting used to the racket is quick, so you can play a real rally in your very first lesson.

Padel suits a beginner who has never held a racket as well as a tennis or squash player looking for a new sport. Beginner padel lessons focus on the serve, the basic shots and the rules, while advanced players practise lobs, defending smashes and doubles tactics. Because it is always played four at a time, it is a sociable sport too.

Before booking a padel lesson, ask whether court hire and a racket are included, whether it is a private lesson or a group session and whether the coach helps you find partners at your level. Also ask whether the courts are indoors, so you can play all year round.
